About The Artist…
Digital photography has made the hobby much easier and
the
results much more immediate. No more waiting two or three
days to see if the photo I envisioned at the scene is the
one that came out on paper. Now I can find out as soon as I
get back to the computer. I have recently found the
advantages of High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography. This
technique allows me to see in a photograph the way my eye
sees at the scene. No more loosing details in the shadows
or in the highlights. Now, by using HDR, I can get details
throughout the photograph and achieve some very interesting
artistic results as well.
I truly enjoy trying to record those moments in time that
will never occur again. The look on a Little Leaguer’s face
when he scores the winning run, a spectacular thunderstorm
as it builds over a blue domed church in Santorini, the rain
as it glistens on the cobblestones of a close in Edinburgh,
a hundred year old tree on a mountain top in Colorado, a
sunrise over the Reflecting Pool on the National Mall, these
unique moments will never repeat themselves in exactly the
same way again. If I can anticipate these golden moments
and capture them with the help of my camera then I can
preserve them for all to share. I have, in a certain way,
captured time in a box and printed that moment on paper.
