Peter
Levins was born with a passion for art and nature,
proving himself both an apt craftsman and photographer at an
early age. He graduated from The New England School of Art and
Design in Boston, Massachusetts where he learned to refine his
skills, earning a degree in advertising and design. Having
worked twenty plus years at some of the top advertising agencies
in the North East, he continues putting his skills to use
managing a print studio at Arnold Worldwide.
Peter is an ultimate craftsman, inspired
greatly by the nature that surrounds Lot 5 studio, which he
founded along with his wife Judith Levins,
in 2008. Throwing functional stoneware, his ceramic work is
deeply influenced by the clean classic lines of architectural
and automotive design. He sees beauty not just in the aesthetic
but also in function, creating art that people use in their
everyday life.
When he’s not in his corporate studio building mechanicals and
presentations, or at Lot 5 immersed in clay,
Peter treks the Virginia hillsides hunting birds and
wildlife with his cameras. His photography captures the local
inhabitants going about their daily activities. |

Influenced by such greats as Ansel Adams, he takes to heart the
legend’s quote: “Nothing is worse than a sharp image of a fuzzy
concept.”
