CALL FOR ARTISTS
2011 TOUR
Applications will be
available online for the sixth annual Western Loudoun Artists
Studio Tour, scheduled for mid June, 2011.
Visual
artists selected for this juried event will be able to sell their
work directly from
their studios to the public while visitors will be exposed to a
variety of artists who
work in Loudoun County.
Professional and emerging visual artists whose studios are located
in Western
Loudoun County and whose studios meet specified criteria are
eligible for
consideration as Studio Artists. Loudoun artists who do not have a
Western
Loudoun studio suitable for visitors may also apply for
consideration as Guest
Artists at a designated Tour location. Two- or three-dimensional
work will be
considered, including painting, drawing, fiber art, wood, ceramics,
photography,
sculpture, and jewelry. Interested artists should request an
application by calling
(540) 338-7973, by downloading
PDF application or filling out the on-line
application form, both of which will be available by December 2010 .
Postmarked deadline for submission will be February 1, 2011, and
applicants
will be notified mid-February.
The goal of the tour is to showcase the artistic talent in the
Loudoun community
as well as promote Loudoun as a scenic and cultural destination. A
joint project
of Franklin Park Arts Center, Friends of Franklin Park Arts Center,
Loudoun
Academy of the Arts Foundation, Round Hill Arts Center and Loudoun
Arts
Council, the Studio Tour brings hundreds of visitors from across the
metropolitan
region into artist studios.
