Artist Statement

I had my first lesson on the pottery wheel in 2010 and have been hooked ever since. I've studied with internationally known potters, Simon Leach, Bill Van Guilder, and Nan Rothwell. However, I credit my love of pottery to my first teacher — local potter Sandi Fanning.

I am currently the pottery studio manager at the Round Hill Arts Center. Having a background in education, I also really enjoy teaching both intermediate and advanced wheel thrown pottery classes for Round Hill Arts Center.

While I make a few decorative pieces, I mainly focus on functional dishes that we use everyday in the kitchen. At the Round Hill Art Center's studio, you'll find covered casseroles, batter bowls, mugs, brie bakers, chicken bakers, honey pots, serving trays, hors d'oeuvre servers, pie plates, pitchers, and butter dishes, etc. If it's in the kitchen, I've made it.

I find there's something warm and inviting about eating and serving from a hand made dish.
