Artist Statement

I am a true believer in the power of art and creativity and make every effort to explore this in my own life. My work is motivated by a strong desire to communicate and express visually something beyond words or spoken language. The subjects of my drawing and paintings vary greatly in appearance and tone. Still, whether it's the lively Splotch Monsters, trees photographed from around the world, or highly-detailed portraits of endangered animals, it's easy to see that I am inspired by a love for color and informed by nature and wildlife.
