Ed and Claire Cutshall began making custom jewelry in 1977 in Fairfax, Virginia, moving to Hillsboro in 1989. We chose Hillsboro because we opted to limit our production of jewelry to what we can design and manufacture personally, rather than mass produce merchandise like so many other jewelers/designers.
Our jewelry styles have ranged from highly detailed, natural, and filigree looks to bold, contemporary and tailored designs. Our gems are similarly well detailed; often fashioned using one of our distinctive U.S. patented designs.
Ed's jewelry designs have won both international and national design competitions. Claire focuses on lapidary (gemstone faceting) to achieve the most intense color the crystal can offer. Together the combination of high karat gold, platinum, and gems are the building blocks of our art.
Son Logan brings his background of geology, gemology and gem mining to the group as well as his own designs. Working closely with his father has honed his skills and made him an indispensable part of our team.
We display our crafts in our gallery located in Hillsboro and are open each Thursday through Saturday 12-6 and Sunday 1 - 5 for customers to visit and either find an existing piece or participate in the design of something new.
