About The Artist… .

I am a metalsmith and enamelist whose work combines a variety of textures and enamels to create jewelry and wall pieces that have a unique depth.  My approach to design uses a contemporary twist on ancient techniques.  Enamel is a thin coat of glass that is applied to metal then heated to a high temperature until the metal and glass are fused as one.  Each piece can be fired once or many times, and at varying temperatures to create different colors and textures.  I individually design and hand craft each piece.

I strive to create jewelry that is comfortable, beautiful and fun to wear.  To create each wall piece I use a variety of techniques, such as sifting, sgraffito, stencil and silkscreen. My inspiration comes from the world around me, my textile past and from the medium itself.  It is the seductive gem-like qualities of the enamel that leads me towards further exploration and experimentation.  As you reflect on the depth and mystery of the enamel, may you too be inspired to find your own creativity within.
