The Artist…
Meredith Hilt is a Bluemont based jewelry artist specializing in wire and metal-smithing techniques. She combines precious metal, wire and stone into wearable pieces of artwork.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh (PA) she began a long graphic design career. Finally, Meredith's lifelong obsession with jewelry led her to experimentation in metalsmithing. Using a saw, hammer and torch, Meredith merges metals together, seeing how they can play off one another. The end result is often embellished with ivory, artisan glass or semi-precious stones.
Using her hands
and imagination she creates unique, organic pieces with
a contemporary flair. Her
jewelry can be found in boutiques and galleries in Virginia,
Maryland and also on Etsy.
