About
the Artist:
.jpg)
Ms.
DeSaix's three years in Tokyo, Japan, have influenced her
recent work. Since returning to the U.S. in 2002, she has
focused on printmaking including etchings, lithography,
linocuts and woodcuts. Themes include animals and hunt
country, abstract mixed media, people depicted in
atmospheric compositions, and social topics. She continues
to experiment with an environmentally-friendly etching tank
using electrolysis to etch zinc plates and is achieving
excellent results. Before moving to Tokyo, she conducted a
successful art program at local community centers for
school-aged children that included drawing, painting,
sculpture and printmaking.
