Oil on Canvas: Babbett's Fortune

Through the use of color texture and pattern, I am building a modern mythology of women today; portraying a testament of the complicated essence of the strength in women in the maelstrom of the day to day world. My paintings are the culmination of my creative experiences and desires. Be it the female form within landscape or a solitary depiction, the use of pattern is the critical linchpin of my work. Using color, form, and line, I create rhythms in both the large and small elements in each of my canvases. My favorite comment that appeared on my website says “they are all amazing… Oddly Renaissance and religious, as though the spirit takes up extra room in things”.
