Artist's Statement
I’m originally from tidewater, Virginia. Spending time near the water, I grew to appreciate nature. After living much of my adult life near the Blue Ridge, my eye turned to my rural surroundings. My art reflects the farm animals and rolling hills that surround me…a love for animals leads me to look deeply into moments found in fields and barns to reveal emotive scenes. I hope to capture the distinct presence that exists behind the eyes of the animals in my paintings.
